So ofcourse, the landlord don’t want you stay just two or three months and leave. So depend to the landlords, they will allow 3 months, 6 month or 1 year is minimum contract.
Tips for you: sign contract 1 year but ask: if there is emergency case you have to leave Vietnam, you can move out sooner with full deposit but will announce 1 month notice so they have time to find new tenant, remember to tell them that you love their property so will only stay here as long as you live here. by that way you can have a good price
The Payment terms
You will see the payment terms in renting a house in Viet Nam is 1 month deposit and 3 months advanced rental. Some of landlord allow 1 month but the price will be higher. Because if you stay 1 month that means the empty time in year will higher and the furniture easier to be damage. The people who stay in short terms usually do not use the facilities in the right way.
There is no doubt that many expats prefer being over charged for living together in Tay Ho or Truc Bach. But the air is most important reason make expats would like to stay. You stay close to the lake, when you can enjoy nature and doing jogging to relax everyday. Beside, other thing like high quality stuffs or food in nice western restaurant is cheaper than Ba Dinh, Hai Ba Trung, Dong Da, etc…
Tips for you: For the first time, you pay 3 months, but next month if you really have problem in finance, you can ask them pay monthly. Ofcourse they dont want the room be empty so they would easier to accept.
